When Filmbyn was inaugurated on June 17, 2017, Astrid Lindgren's daughter Karin Nyman said: "How wonderful that Astrid's films have now found a home". We are so grateful for that and for being able to show and tell about Astrid Lindgren's filmmaking. Remember to take plenty of time for a visit with us. The museum is suitable for all ages and there is also an AUDIO GUIDE in three different languages that gives our visitors guidance in Ingmarie Halling's fine exhibition. Halling has also made ABBA-the museum and AVICCI experience in Stockholm.
When you have visited us and the world of films, we would like to advise you to also visit Astrod Lindgrens Näs, the childhood home in Vimmerby, which in 2023 has created a fantastic new main exhibition about Astrid Lindgren's life's work. There are also Astrid Lindgren's gardens. When you do your "ASTRID", a visit to Katthult and Bullerbyn as well as a bike ride in the Filmlandscape are different parts that provide a whole for those who want to learn more about one of the world's greatest children's book authors and personalities. A visit to Astrid Lindgren's world is an obvious part when you do your "ASTRID"
