FILMBYN SMÅLAND has its focus on local and locally produced products. We prefer to do business with local companies when we purchase, maintain, build or repair our facility. Our work is based on Astrid Lindgren's writings and films, since Their message and content are the starting point in everything we do. Therefore The child perspective is included in all parts of our operations.
Locally produced food in Restaurant SKOGEN Restaurant SKOGEN cooks from scratch using ingredients from the local area. We buy ingredients from, among others, Stjernbergs bakery, Norrby ängar and pork from Glada Grisar. In addition, the same antibody Our drinks come from the local brewery ÅBRO in Vimmerby. We collaborate also tight with Stjernbergs skafferi in Mariannelund who really works with local food and has their own bakery. All dairy products are lactose-free and we always have gluten-free alternatives and vegetarian dishes on our menu.ny.
Sustainable choices in store and operations The goods in our store come from local companies, since We strive for high quality products. We sell crafts from local artists such as Nathalie Fjäll. When we clean, we use as few chemicals as possible and choose therefore always eco-labeled products. We minimize our environmental impact through source separation in collaboration with GDL Vimmerby and Eksjö Energi. They collect our fractions such as metal, glass, plastic and paper packaging, which allows us to manage our waste responsibly.
Local economy and networks We hire seasonal staff from the Mariannelund area to benefit the local economy. Beyond this We collaborate with associations and Emilkraften to jointly develop the place where we operate.
We collaborate also w/ Småland Tourism, Jonkoping Region, Kalmar Region, Welcome , Destination Småland, Visit Eksjö, Visit Hultsfred, Vimmerby Tourist Office, Visit Småland and Visit Sweden Together with these and the local tourist offices, we work to manage and develop Astrid Lindgren's legacy in Småland.
