Mariannelund is not only famous from the movies, it is a living town with a rich history. Here you can stroll around environments that have inspired countless stories. There is always something new for both young and old to discover along the streets.
Just a short drive away is Eksjö, one of Sweden's best preserved wooden towns. Walking through the Old Town is like traveling back in time. There are also cozy shops and cafes here that make the excursion complete.
Just a short drive from Mariannelund is Vimmerby, Astrid Lindgren's birthplace. There is even more to discover here for history buffs. You can visit Astrid Lindgren's Näs, where the author grew up, or spend a day at Astrid Lindgren's World. Vimmerby town centre also offers charming alleys and small shops that are well worth a visit.
There is also a lot to see and do in Hultsfred. Here you can visit the beautiful local history park or take a trip on the narrow gauge railway. For music lovers, there is also much more to discover about the town's rich musical history and the famous Hultsfredsfestival archive.

Filmbyn Småland is beautifully situated in the middle of the Småland forest. Hiking trails wind around the corner, and there are several swimming lakes just a stone's throw away.
Start in the adventure forest next to us, then take a trip to some of the filming locations from the films, and experience outdoor life at its best!
