The board has now decided that it will be "New Ronja" that will be the new environment at Filmbyn Småland in 2025. In June 2023, the production company of Ronja the Robbersdaughter called Filmbyn and offered a gift that we could not resist. If we picked up the two fine handcrafted beds that were props in the filming of Ronja-the Robbersdaugter soon, we would get them. Without hesitation, we went to a storage facility in Södertälje and picked up the beds and some other props and drove it to a storage facility in Mariannelund.
Now it's time to pick up the props and build a new environment next to our existing stone hall in Ronjaborgen. Therefore, we have now sent a request for quotation to three companies to help us create a magical environment from these props.
The opening is planned for Easter 2025 and we look forward to creating something new at Filmbyn for all our visitors and guests.
We will also print and sell even more unique movie posters because the Emil movie posters that we brought to our store in the spring of 2024 have been very popular. Many are now hanging in different homes all over Europe. It's amazing to think that what we do is spreading and creating joy far beyond Mariannelund, where the Emil films were made over 50 years ago.
Filmbyn has a new website. Some pages are still under construction - please let us know if something is not working.
